In 1982, J. Mark Canada entered the financial services industry with Washington National Financial services. He earned his initial designations in risk planning (CLU) and consulting (ChFC) in 1986, 1987 and CLTC in 2006.
As an independent, Mark has developed a reputation in consulting with privately held corporations and retirement income planning for individuals. His client base is spread across the southwest where he is based out of Dallas area. He routinely places himself in a client's needs. He has been an industry leader in a variety of financial areas, particularly in planning. In 2003, Mark was one of the key participants in the creation of Business Blocks, Inc., a firm focused on the planning for individuals and small businesses with a slant towards the issues of tax savings as a primary focus.
Mark has earned many industry awards during his career. In addition, he has been active in community affairs by directing fund raising for his church, local Boy Scouts, and civic causes. Also he has served on the boards of many corporations and associations locally.
As father of four children, Cathi, Kristin, Patrick, and Heather, Mark and his wife Vickey reside outside of Forney, Texas. He enjoys traveling abroad, as well as snow skiing and snorkeling. He also enjoys running a small farm, buying and selling antiques, and participating in classic Corvette car shows.
